LONDON

Somehow it is our tradition that every time I'm going to visit my family in Slovakia, me and my boyfriend make a plan to discover another part of the world. And I've decided to share it with you.

This time I'm taking you to the capital city of England and the United Kingdom,London.
I'm sure many of you have already been to London and while reading this blog you'll be remembering all those places I will take you to. For those who haven't been there yet,you might want to visit after reading this :)
London is a very cosmopolitan city, you will never get tired of it, there are plenty of things to do. You must see all the touristy places like  London Eye, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, etc. Those places are very common and easy to visit. You can do it by yourself, of just take a guide, Hop on-hop off buses are perfect for the first visit.

London is also one of the most international cities, with people from all around the word. There is always a new bar, play or concert to see. It is a real world city with some of the most famous buildings, museums and galleries.
I'm not gonna bore you and write about all these things which you know you must do when you go there. I will show you London through our eyes, what we did, where we went to...

Our number one place to see is Covent garden. It is a district of Westminister in Greater London. It's very easy to get there. It is very easy to get anywhere in London.Just take a tube and you can get anywhere,it is very well connected! Covent garden is on Piccadilly line.

Covent Garden

There is always something happening in Covent garden (unless it's raining or maybe even then). It is one of the city's main entertainment and shopping areas, with stalls selling crafts and gifts, with street performers and musicians, surrounded by bars and restaurants. We spent a beautiful sunny afternoon here. Quirkier, trendier spots can be found on the cobbled streets away from the piazza. These narrow roads stretch up to Soho.

Soho's streets are lined with bars, restaurants and clubs and remains busy almost around the clock. This place is also known as the main nightlife centre in London. We were very lucky with the weather. We had three full sunny days in London and the city could feel it. Every corner was occupied with people just hanging around, outside of the bar with beer in the hand, chilling, having fun.

Place you should  not miss is Chinatown. The smell, the vibe, the whole place will take you immediately from London to China. It is packed with Asian shops and Chinese restaurants.
Chinatown

Never, never, never miss the food markets in London. Our favourite one is the oldest food market in London, Borough Market. You can browse over 100 stalls filled with gourmet food, delicious cheese and beautiful patisserie. Don't over eat in the first stall. Take small bites and try different things. Our most favourite meal we tried there was duck confit. Yummyyyy

MUST TRY!

Another very popular market is Portobello. Those who've seen the movie Notting Hill know what I'm talking about. The market has again lots to offer.  From fresh vegetables, to fruits, gourmet food, to plenty of antiques and vintage stuff. Not only clothes but everything what you could think of. The main day of the market is Saturday. A little warning, it can get prettttttty crowded.

For colourful street art, pop-ups, art shops, quirky market, vintage or designer stores visit the coolest neighborhood Shoreditch. The place is packed with trendy cocktail bars, gastro eateries, edgy art galleries and legendary nightclubs. It's filled with youngsters, artists, you can meet lot of new interesting and talented people. This place has always good a great vibe.

Our top places to eat in London.

No1. - Le Relais de Venise L'Entricote - it's a french bistro. The magic of this place is that they serve only one dish. After a starter(green salad with mustard vinaigrette and crushed walnuts) you'll get the yummiest steak-frites served with famous sauce. Once you are done they bring you one more round of steak and fries. Trust me you cannot say NO. Accompany it with french vine. Craving it right now!

No.2 - The best burger we had, Honest Burgers. Just ask for Honest Butcher's beef burger. Beef, red onion relish and lettuce with rosemary salted chips.Hungry now?

No.3 - Randall & Aubin - For the seafood lovers. We were actually supposed to have dinner with friends at another place. But while passing by we knew this is the place to have dinner. You can choose from fresh seafood, lamb, chicken and beef which are very well cooked. Not only was the food delicious, the atmosphere and service were amazing as well. A long standing classic Soho restaurant (we waited about an hour, but time passes fast while you stand in front of the restaurant and sip your wine). The wait is worth it!

I love London, because there is always something going on. You can find talent in every corner of the city. People singing, dancing, doing some magic tricks, just entertaining people everywhere. You can come back again and again and see completely new place every time.

Hasta la vista London.
