HOMEMADE BASIL PESTO

Few days back we discovered basil growing in front our home so I decided to make pesto. It's a very easy recipe with just few ingredients. The beauty of making these goodies at home is that you know exactly how much oil or butter or any other ingredients you've put and you can always experiment with healthier or easier options. Not talking about pesto but in any food in general.
Having a jar of pesto in your fridge is always a life saver for those busy working days. All you have to do is cook up some pasta, add that pesto and sprinkle on some parmesan. Done and done!
I experimented a little bit and changed the original recipe a tad bit. Since I'm  allergic to pine nuts, I used almonds instead. If you like you can also try cashew nuts.

INGREDIENTS:
2 cup fresh basil leaves
2 cloves peeled garlic
1/2 cup of nuts (pine nuts, almonds, cashew)
3 spoons of olive oil
1 squeezed lemon
salt, black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS:
All ingredients mixed well together,  store the pesto in a jar. You can add grated parmesan but even without it the taste is delicious.

Delicious, quick and easy!

Boun appetite
