Easy Tahini Recipe
Homemade tahini is so easy to make home. And way cheaper than the one you buy in the shop.
It is three ingredients recipe and really really quick.
We all know tahini is used to make humus but did you know, you can use tahini as a salad dressing, just like a dip, or you can also use it for baking.
Tahini is simply paste from sesame seeds. Its vegan, gluten free, and has yummy nutty taste.
I use hulled sesame seeds for my tahini , you can also use unhulled, but the paste from hulled sesame seeds is much smoother.
This recipe is so simple, just grind sesame seeds in a food processor with a little oil until smooth.
You only need THREE ingredients!!
INGREDIENTS
140 g hulled sesame seeds
2-4 table spoon neutral oil
salt
INGREDIENTS
140 g hulled sesame seeds
2-4 table spoon neutral oil
salt
SESAME SEEDS
As I mentioned earlier, I prefer to use hulled sesame seeds. I slightly roast the seeds on the pan, but you can skip this step if you'd like.
OIL
Oil helps to turn tahini into a creamy smooth paste, I add 3-4 tablespoon of neutral oil.
SALT
Is optional ingredient but I always use it. Everything taste better with a bit of salt.
INSTRUCTIONS
Add sesame seeds into a wide dry saucepan, roast them over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, be careful they are very tiny and easy to burn.
Transfer them to baking sheet or big plate and let them cool completely.
After your sesame seeds are cooled down, transfer them into a food processor and process until crumbly paste, about 1 minute.
Add 3 table spoon of oil and process again for another 1 minute, check the tahini's consistency, it should be creamy, if needed add one more table spoon of oil and process for another 1 minute.
Taste the tahini, add little bit of salt if needed and mix it for 10 seconds.
Store tahini in refrigerator for up to one month.
BON APPETIT :)
